Also, when shots were fired, the police were called, and the first officer got there at 10:53 a.m. During the Livestream, a few shots were heard off-camera. These were Johnathan firing at the police who had surrounded the house.
Even though Rannita begged Johnathan to stop, he shot her many times. He shot at the officers outside, and after a nearly 80-minute standoff, he was caught.
During the shootout, a police officer was also hurt. Rannita had to wait to go to the hospital because Johnathan had to be caught first.

Where is Johnathan Robinson today?
Johnathan was sorry for what he had done and planned to admit to killing Rannita. But since the prosecution was planning to go for the death penalty at the time, pleading guilty was not an option.
After talking with Rannita’s family about the plea deal, the death penalty was no longer asked for. In January 2019, Johnathan admitted to first-degree murder and was sent to prison with no chance of getting out. For shooting at police officers, the person had to serve an extra 100 years in prison.
Johnathan talked to Rannita’s mother, Anita, after he got his sentence. With a tear in his eye, Jonathan tells her he’s sorry. He had already sent her a letter of apology from prison. Johnathan also said he was sorry he shot at the police officers.
In a very emotional moment, Anita accepted his apology and told him she would forgive him. She said that she had never believed in murder and was glad that justice had finally been done.
At the moment, Johnathan is serving his time in a prison in Louisiana.
