The Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister, Prakash Javadekar held an analysis meeting yesterday on October 6, with 41 Vice Chancellors of Central Universities at Banaras Hindu University. He said that only nations with great universities will prosper and promise to raise the quality of higher education in the nation. He highlighted the skill development programmes associated to students and gave examples of BRICS countries where attention is given on skill development through vocational training programmes.
He said, student centric inventiveness should be started, keeping in mind their problems such as scholarship, hostels and admissions that should be give out with sensitivity. He appreciated BHU founder Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya’s observation for establishing the university and said that freedom fighters started educational institutions as a tool for movement and renaissance. BHU Vice Chancellor G C Tripathi said: “Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya used the education as a tool for social accredits which is rooted in Indian values and culture.” Tripathi said the BHU founder also wanted to develop these starters as a centre of holistic education.
Colombian president Juan Manuel Sants honored Nobel Peace Prize 2016
Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos homered by the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for his efforts to end a five-decades-long civil war that has eliminate more than 200,000 people in the South American country. The award came just days after Colombian voters barely refuse a peace deal that Santos helped bring about. The Norwegian Nobel Committee said that elimination doesn’t mean the peace process is dead. “The referendum was not a vote for or against peace,” it said. “What the ‘No’ side rejected was not the desire for silence, but a specific silence agreement.” The committee did not cite Santos’ counterpart in the peace conference, Rodrigo Londono, the leader of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia.
Keep a track at ssc.nic.in, SSC CGL TIER 1 result to be announced today on October 7
The result of Staff Selection Commission (SSC) CGL merge Graduate Level (Tier I) online exam will be announced today on October 7. To fill all vacant medical seats latest by Oct 7, SC orders to DMER
The Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DMER) Mumbai will conclude the most controversial medical and dental admission procedure in the state today, i.e. 7th October, 2016. Regardless of the September 30 deadline set by the Supreme Court in April for medical admission, the conflict over attempt to find admission in the consider universities and self-financing medical colleges in the state was seen. Last week, DMER filed a petition in the SC seeking right to bring consider colleges under a centralized process, which went in their favour.While admissions already done by the institutes were regularized, the remaining seats were ordered to be filled up by DMER.On Thursday, the court asked the state Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DMER) to complete admissions to fill-in the vacant seats in government and private medical and dental institutes across Maharashtra by October 7As per reports, DMER was unable to complete the process of admission by September 30As reported, there are 50 vacant seats in the dental course and 30 in the MBBS course Also, this was the third time that DMER had applied for extension of dates with DMER’s previous two attempts being rejected by the SC
