Sri Venkateswara College, New Delhi is situated in DU South Campus and is considered as one of the leading colleges of Delhi University in the science, arts, and commerce streams. Fifty years ago, three stalwarts in the public domain, Smt Durgabai Deshmukh, Dr. K.L.Rao, and Dr. C.Anna Rao, transformed their spirited vision and dream to reality in the shape of Sri Venkateswara College. It is a co-ed college and was initially started out as a college to cater to the needs of South Indian students. Jesus and Mary College (JMC)
Jesus and Mary College was established with an aim to provide Christian education to young women with an equal emphasis on religious and spiritual values. It was founded by the Religious of Jesus and Mary, a Roman Catholic Congregation founded by St. Claudine Thevenet. The journey started in 1968 with just two courses in its initial year. But, at present, the college offers BA, B.Sc, B.Com, and MA courses for different subjects. JMC is affiliated with the University of Delhi and is accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ grade. Gargi College
Gargi Collge is one of the leading Women colleges located on the south campus. It is affiliated with Delhi University. The college has enrolled around 3000 students till now. Delhi College of Arts and Commerce (DCAC) was established in 1987. It is a premier institution for higher education providing a dynamic and excellent educational environment for the students. This college has introduced three-year honor programs, being the pioneer institution. It currently offers a range of courses in Arts, Commerce along with Journalism and Mass Communication.
DCAC is a constituent college of the Delhi University which is financed partially (5 percent) by the Govt. of NCT, Delhi. Shaheed Bhagat Singh College is named after the great son of India, Shaheed-e-Azam, Sardar Bhagat Singh. Shaheed Bhagat Singh is an Indian freedom fighter who believed strongly in social justice. The college was established as a co-educational college in 1967 as a constituent college of South Campus, University of Delhi. This college is best known for its Department of Commerce. Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College (ARSD)
Formerly known as Sanatan Dharma College, ARSD college is a co-educational constituent college of the University of Delhi. Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College was founded on August 3, 1959, by the Sanatan Dharma Sabha, Delhi. Late Shri Atma Ram Chadha was a well-known philanthropist who took over as chairman of the college governing body in 1967. Shri Pawan Jaggi is the current chairman of the college.
In 2017, as per the list announced by HRD Minister, ARSD College has been ranked all India 5th position in the College category. This has been the first time that such has happened. Maitreyi College
Maitreyi College, a college in the South Campus of the University of Delhi is located in Bapu Dham, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, India. This college was established in July 1967 Â by Delhi Administration. As a matter of fact, this college is named after the Vedic sage Maitreyi. Maitreyi is an all-women college and offers various courses in the fields of Science, Arts, and Commerce. It has star status in all four of its science departments namely Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and is recognized by DBT as a star college.
This college had a modest beginning at Netaji Nagar with a staff of seventeen teachers offering only B.A. (Pass) and B.Sc. (General) courses. Significantly, it has since made rapid progress both in size and stature. The present campus is spread over ten acres of land in lush green surroundings with extensive playgrounds and open spaces in Chanakyapuri. They also have a teaching force of 113 teachers and 78 members for administrative support.
This college proudly bears the name of Maitreya, an eminent scholar of the Vedic period who was the wife of sage Yajnavalkya. In view of Maitreyi who chose knowledge over worldly possessions, it has been the college objective to weave these values into the fabric of our education system which is a blend of the best of tradition and modernity. Maitreyi, when asked by her husband to make a choice between the two; the dialogue between Maitreyi and Yajnavalkya in Brihadaranyaka Upanishad shows her as an empowered woman, determined to attain self-realization through knowledge.

DU undergraduate admission process starts as soon as the 12th examination results have been declared because the admission process of related courses is basically on the result of the 12th standard.
